The 10 Bodies of Yoga and How to Activate Them

We have only one physical body, but Yogic teachings suggest that we are much more than this physical form. We possess many subtle energies that contribute to our physical, emotional, and energetic well-being—referred to as other bodies.

The purpose of this blog is to announce that I will soon be sharing an energizing set of yoga poses. Sure, these poses are effective for strengthening the abdominal muscles and our stamina, the main focus of this sequence is to awaken the body's energy field—similar to an internal house clearing service!

Our culture often prioritises the mind, science, and what we can see as fact. As a result, many ideas are frequently dismissed as "woo-woo," which can prevent us from engaging in practices that emphasise internal work rather than just external appearances. While this set of poses certainly strengthens the abs, the primary focus of the sequence is on waking up the body's energy field. These energies can significantly impact our daily lives— often without our awareness. When out of balance, we can often feel lethargic, disconnected and disillusioned, using distractions like food, alcohol, and internet browsing to get through the day. I've used them all and more!

But the best part is that we can strengthen our 10 'Energetic' Bodies just like we would a muscle!

Why is this a good thing?

When we feel stuck or down in our lives, it's likely that one of our bodies is out of balance. If we are open to connecting with ourselves and take some time for self-compassion, we can begin to tap into our life force.

It took me years of on-and-off yoga practice before I fully embraced its transformative potential as the foundation of my daily life. As I began to connect with my body and live in the moment, I started to experience its benefits from within. I found myself reacting less, and positive changes began to unfold. My life felt more manageable and aligned with my heart; believe it or not, I started to look forward to these precious moments each morning!
